Physical Security and Privacy
Purpose
In order to ensure the safety of Recovery Works health and safety polices must be followed by all clients, staff, and visitors.
Policy
All facilities and the grounds where they are located shall be constructed and maintained in a safe manner in accordance with all applicable state and local regulations.
Separate areas conducive to privacy for counseling and group activities shall be available in each facility. There shall also be areas that afford privacy for the collection of urine samples.
During the hours that the center is in operation, no portion of the building shall be used for any purpose that endangers the health and safety of clients, staff and visitors.
All areas and surfaces accessible to clients, staff and visitors shall be free of toxic substances and hazardous materials.
All potentially harmful items including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic and hazardous materials must be labeled and confined in a locked area.
No firearms shall be kept on the premises.
No narcotics, alcohol or mind altering drugs shall be present on the premises.
Smoking is prohibited within the facility.
The premises, furnishings, and equipment shall be kept clean, free of rodents and vermin, in good repair and in general good order.
Rodents and vermin shall be exterminated.
Pest control shall not take place while rooms are occupied by clients, staff or visitors.
All buildings, when the windows or doors are open, must be adequately screened to prevent entrance of any insects or rodents. Screens are not required for open air classrooms and picnic areas.
Recovery Works must have at least one staff member with a valid certificate of course completion for first aid training and cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures.
One staff member satisfying these training requirements shall be present at all times that clients are in the facility.
At least one first aid kit containing materials to administer first aid must be maintained on the premises at all times.
Certificates of course completion are valid based on the time frames established by each first aid and CPR training program, not to exceed three (3) years.
Documentation that identified staff members have met the first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training requirement shall be kept on-file.
